First hub tent, first Gazelle Tent

Long review, but thorough.

I camp on breaks from school with my 8 year old daughter, I'm a teacher. We mostly do state parks and stuff like that. Purchased a tent from a big box sporting goods store cheap just in case my daughter didn't like camping, not a big investment, but she loves camping and fishing now. After a few outings it's showing signs of stiching coming apart. Time to buy real tent.

I was in scouts as a kid, and love camping, so figured I'd get something that I'd use even if she decides to quit. Bought the Gazelle Overland.

First, haven't taken out yet, just set up out back. I think this is totally going to meet our needs. The T4 Overland is perfect for that! Big enough to fit our cots and gear. We take the dog sometimes, 80 lbs, and the floor seems as if it can withstand him, even though we've put down an old blanket inside.

What really turned me on was the fact that the Overland includes a footprint, upgraded stakes (16 of them!), 4 guy lines (which are short so I'll be buying more Paracord), and a HUGE bag for everything. People complain about the pack size, it's a legit 5 feet, but I have a truck, so no issue.

I wouldn't say bomb proof, but seems pretty dang close.

Issues-

First, in the pictures you can see the stitching outside the tent from one of the 2 sewn in gear lofts. I don't think it'll be an issue since covered by the fly, but should be cleaner, especially at the given asking price.

Second, picture of outside of tent at a hub where there, is a rubber washer that came ripped. I don't think this will be an issue, but, seems like if there is leakage it should be an easy fix. All 4 wall hub pull outs on the outside have a washer to seal, this one was bad.

Finally- Just some itty bitty details I'll fix.
The roof hub inside doesn't have anything to cover the hole. Rubber washer fixes that. It's big enough for small insects to enter. There's a draw string type clamp that if you untie and put a washer on it nixes that.

The footprint seems as if it's like 1" short on all sides. I didn't stake down while doing back yard set up, so I'm assuming that'll be taken care of when I actually stake it out.

Other than those small issues, this seems like a very solid tent. It's the in between of cheap nylon and crazy expensive canvas. But it's closer to the expensive side.

I did buy this tent on sale, and with a teacher discount, which Solssentials offers up front to teachers, first responders, military, etc. It's nice to know that Solssentials actually does something cool for people who dedicate their lives to the community! Thank you!

I'm sure that my daughter and I (and possibly dog) will use this for years.
